[The seal which keeps the world's order, keeping Time, Space, and Dimensions in their proper place]
世界の秩序を正しく維持するためには、”おおいなる時間” をしかるべき場所につなぎとめておく必要がある――とされている。封印とは、「時間」 「空間」 「次元」 を、現世界の正い時間に収めるために存在するものである。世界には、聖地と呼ばれえる３ヵ所の封印場所と、１人の最終封印が存在する。聖地はそれぞれ森・海・砂漠の神殿として奉られ、最終封印は女神――フリアエ自身だ。古の時代から、すべての封印が解かれてしまうと、世界は滅亡すると言い伝えられている。
In order to preserve the world's order, it is necessary to fasten the "Great Time" in suitable places--and so it is done. The seals exist in order to ensure that "Time", "Space", and "Dimensions" stay true to the present. There are three seals called holy lands in the world, as well as a single, final seal. These holy lands - a forest, a mountain, and a desert - each serve as a temple, with the final seal being the goddess: Furiae herself. Since ancient times, tradition has stated that if all the seals were to be released, the world would fall into ruin.
古より封印に関する神事は、すべて神官によって執り行われる。神官は各国から選抜され、宗派を超えた聖職者たちによって構成されている。そうした神官たちの頂点に立つ存在が、神官長だ。女神と接触できる唯一の人間である神官長は、聖終封印である女神の安全を図ることを第一の任務とする。また、女神に対して実際に封印を施すことができるのも、神官長ただ１人である。なお、神官長は事実上の連合軍総司令官でもあり、その権力は絶大だ。ただし、神官長は特定の宗教・教団には所属せず、あくまでも「封印をコントロールするための神官」という公的な職があり、それを統括する立場にある。
Since olden times, it has been ritual for a ceremony to be held to choose the priests of the seals. A priest of each nation is chosen, forming an organization of clergymen which crosses the boundaries of religious sects. Standing at the head of this organization is the hierarch. As the sole living being allowed to make contact with the goddess, his most important duty is maintaining her safety as the final holy seal. The hierarch is the only one able to apply the seal to a goddess as well. He serves as the supreme commander of the Union Army, as well; his political power is tremendous. However, the hierarch is not attached to any one religion or organization, serving to the bitter end his official duty as "The priest who exists to control the seals," so long as he stands in a position to oversee it.
４つの封印は、それぞれが支え合ってこの世界を滅亡から護っている。このため、１つでも封印が破られると、その封印にかかっていた負荷が、残りの封印に課せられることになる。もともとは１人の人間に過ぎない最終封印 （＝女神） にとって、ほかの封印が破られた際にかかる肉体的・精神的なダメージは計り知れない。なお、聖地に存在する３つの封印は破壊されることで効力を失い、最終封印は女神が死ぬことで効力を失う。
The four seals each work together to protect this world from ruin. Because of this, if one seal is broken, the burden which that seal was carrying will be levied onto the others. As the final seal (the Goddess) is by nature merely a single human being, if the other seals were to break, the physical and mental damage she would bear would be unfathomable. Furthermore, the effect of the three seals in their holy grounds is reduced with each one broken, and the death of the goddess would mean the loss of the final seal.
また、封印についてはもう１つ言い伝えがある。それは、”すべての封印が解かれると、滅亡から人間を守る再生の卵が出現する”というものだ。帝国軍（＝天使の教会）の進軍は、この言い伝えに基づいて行われている。
There is yet another legend concerning the seals: "When all the seals are released, the seeds of rebirth will protect humanity from ruin." The Imperial Army (also known as the Cult of the Watchers) is marching with this legend in mind.
現在、ミッドガルドを二分して行われている大戦は、表面上は一種の宗教戦争に過ぎない。しかし本質的には、封印を破壊しようとする勢力 （＝帝国軍） と、それを阻止しようとする勢力 （＝連合軍） による、世界の存亡をかけた戦いなのである。封印が破られたとき、人類を待ち受けるのはどのような運命なのだろうか――。
Now, the great battle splitting Midgard in two is on the surface no more than a religious war. But in reality, it is a battle determining the world's destiny, between those who wish to destroy the seals (The Empire) and those who wish to protect them (The Union). Who knows what fate awaits humanity when the seals are broken....

Once a seal is destroyed, a new seal must be applied in its place. Only the hierarch can perform the treatment, which brings with it excruciating pain for the chosen seal-bearer. There are no exceptions; even a dragon can become the seal.
すべての封印が破られたときに訪れるという無秩序な世界――言い伝えは真実だった。神の意志を受けた 「敵」 たちが、人間を抹殺すべくゆっくりと天から舞い降りる。
"When all the seals are broken, a world of chaos shall appear" - the legend was true. The "adversaries" carrying God's will slowly alight from the sky, come to erase mankind.
