セエレは母親から、過剰なほどの愛情を一身に受けて育った。 しかし、帝国軍によりその母親を殺され、身寄りを失ってしまう。 母親は生前、セエレに何度も 「ちいさい勇者さま」 の話をした。 その後、セエレがゴーレムとの契約により時間を失ったことは、このおとぎ話と奇妙な符合を見せる。 彼女は, 自らの息子に秘められた 「何か」 を感じていたのかもしれない―――。
◉ Mother killed by the Imperial Army
Seere was raised with excessive love from his doting mother. However, the Imperial Army killed his mother, and he was left without family. When she was alive, Seere's mother often told him the story of "The Little Hero." After that, when Seere lost his time due to his contract with Golem, its similarity to the children's story seemed a curious coincidence. Perhaps, this "something" is the feelings she kept from her son---

セエレには、マナという双子の妹がいた。 母親に愛されて育ったセエレとは逆に、マナは母親から虐待を受けて育った。 セエレはそんな妹を不憫に思いながらも、母の愛を独り占めする心地よさの前に、マナのことを思いやることができずにいた。 そしてある日を境に、マナの姿が消えてしまう。 セエレはそのことについて語ろうとしないが、母が憎しみのあまりマナを谷に置き去りにしたのだと思っている。
◉ Long-lost younger sister Manah
Seere had a younger twin sister by the name of Manah. Contrary to Seere who received all this mother's love, Manah received nothing but abuse. Although Seere felt pity for such a sister, with the comfort of having a monopoly of his mother's love, he could not bring himself to sympathize with Manah. Then one day, Manah disappeared. Seere did not speak of this, but he believed that the Manah his mother hated so much had been abandoned in the valley.

母の遺志によって、セエレはゴーレムと契約を結んでいる。 ”負の感情”を持たないセエレが契約に至った経緯には、相手のゴーレムが思考能力の劣る個体であった―――という背景がある。 通常であれば、モンスターが見返りのない契約を結ぶことはあり得ないが、ゴーレムの判断能力の低さゆえ、例外的に契約が成立した。 ゴーレムは、「小さくて弱いセエレを守るため」だけに契約を結んだのである。
◉ The Golem whom Seere calls friend
Following his mother's dying wish, Seere formed a pact with Golem. What led Seere, who felt no "negative emotions", to form a pact with Golem, who had low intelligence--you could say that was it. Normally, it would be impossible to form a pact with a monster without some sort of collateral, but because of Golem's poor judgment, an exceptional pact was formed. Golem tied this pact solely "to protect tiny weak Seere".

「わたしはあなただけを愛してた......」
"I loved only you......"
セエレは、母の気配を感じて目を覚ました。
Seere opened his eyes when he felt his mother's presence.
「母さん！ 母さんどこなの？ いるなら返事して！」 しかし、もちろん母の姿はなく、そこにいたのは彼を心配そうに見下ろすゴーレムだけだった。セエレはがっくりとうなだれると、大きなため息をついてポツリとつぶやいた。
"Mother! Mother where are you? If you're here then answer me!" But of course instead of his mother's figure, the boy's worried gaze found only Golem there. Seere, crestfallen, lowered his head, and mumbled to himself with a great sigh.
「また、夢か......」
"A dream again......"
あの日以来、眠ると必ず母が夢に出てきた。優しくてきれいだった母さん、ただ僕だけを愛してくれた母さん―――。しかし、その母はもういない。父も死んでしまった。セエレは、ひとりぼっちだった。
Ever since that day, his mother would always appear in his dreams without fail when he slept. Kind and beautiful Mother, Mother who loved only me--- But that mother wasn't here anymore. His father as well had died. Seere was all alone.
「セエレ、ヒトリ、チガウ」
"Seere, alone, wrong."
そんな彼の思いを読みとったのか、ゴーレムが控えめに抗議する。セエレは微笑を浮かべると、岩でできた身体を持つ、たった１人の友達に頬を寄せて答えた。
Having read his thoughts, Golem humbly protested. Seere floated a smile, holding onto the craggy body, and pressed his cheek to his only friend in the world as he replied.
「そうだったね、ありがとう。ゴーレム」
"That's right, isn't it. Thank you, Golem."
そして、小さな両腕を精一杯に広げてゴーレムの巨大な足に抱きつき、しばらくの間そのままじっとしていた。母さんはいつも、そうやってセエレのことを抱きしめてくれた。母さんの胸は温かくて、柔らかくて、とてもいい匂いがした。僕は小さいから同じようにしてあげることはできないけど、ゴーレムは大切な友達だ。だから、母さんがしてくれたように、抱きしめてあげたい―――。そして、そのまま、セエレはいつしか寝入ってしまった。
So saying, he extended his tiny arms as far as he could and embraced Golem's gigantic leg, staying like that for a short moment. Mother used to always embrace Seere like this. Mother's breast was warm, and soft, and smelled very nice. Since I'm tiny I can't do it like that, but Golem is an important friend. So I want to give him a hug, just the way Mother used to---. And so, like that, before he knew it Seere had fallen asleep.
微かな寝息に気付いたゴーレムの巨大な手がゆっくりと動き、セエレの小さな身体を岩陰の柔らかい草地にそっと置く。その動作は、まるで母が我が子に対して見せるような、深い慈愛に満ちていた。
Having noticed the faint breathing that signified sleep, Golem's great hand moved slowly, gently placing Seere's little body on the soft meadowland beneath the shade of a rock. That movement seemed very much in appearance like that of a mother towards her own child, filled with a deep affection.
―――翌朝、セエレが目を覚ますと、そばにいるはずのゴーレムの姿がなかった。
---The next morning, when Seere opened his eyes, Golem's figure was not by his side as he had expected.
「ゴーレム......？ ゴーレム！」
"Golem......? Golem!"
思わずそう叫ぶと、少し離れた岩陰からゆっくりとゴーレムが姿を現した。セエレは安堵しつつも、ゴーレムが何をしていたのか、少し気になった。
At his involuntary shout, Golem's figure slowly appeared from the shade of the rocks a short ways off. Seere was relieved, but also wondered what Golem had been doing.
「セエレ、オナヅニオイ、シタ」
"Found, same smell, as Seere."
その言葉に、セエレはハッとした。今セエレたちがいる場所は、かつて妹のマナと生き別れになった谷に近かった。ゴーレムは、モソスターならではの嗅覚で、妹の匂いを感じ取ったのだろう。母の愛をまったく受けられなかったマナ。セエレは、母に愛されることに夢中で、妹のことを思いやることがてきなかった。そして結局マナは―――。
Seere was taken aback by those words. Right now, the two of them were near the valley that his long-lost sister Manah had been abandoned in. Golem, with its monster's sense of smell, must have caught his sister's scent. Manah, who had received not one bit of Mother's love. Seere, living in a haze of love from his mother, had forgotten about his sister. And finally Manah was---
「マナを探さなくちゃ。そして、謝らなきゃ―――」
"I have to find Manah. And then, I have to apologize---"
セエレは、ゆっくりと立ち上がった。その瞳には、強い決意の色があった。
Seere slowly stood up. Within his eyes shone the strong light of determination.
