Caim's pact partner is Angelus--the Red Dragon, the greatest of the dragon race. As a highly intelligent species known for its dislike of interactions with humans, it is extremely rare for one to make a pact with one. At first Angelus had looked down on the foolish humans with cool indifference, but as her bonds with Caim deepened, a slight change began to come over her words and actions. Without fawning on the proud Angelus, who stood at the very peak of superiority, Caim persisted through sheer determination. He was a continuing series of surprises for the dragon. A bewitching, sensational, unique existence--- She did not realize that what she felt for him was something similar to love.

When the Red Dragon - Angelus - was captured by the Imperial Army, it was just a matter of time before she would be killed. It was then that Caim appeared with the offer of a pact, and she agreed for the sake of survival. The superior dragon who disliked humans, and the young man whose parents had been murdered by a dragon in the past--- Through this encounter even God had not intended, the world began to change on a grand scale. Thus was the moment the strongest dragon knight was born.

ドラゴン族の中で、もっとも凶暴かつ好戦的なのが、ブラックドラゴンと呼ばれる種族だ。その性格は極めて残忍で、人間を好んで食する。カイムの両親を惨殺したのも、このブラックドラゴンである。ほかの一族同様、基本的には人間と関わることを嫌うが、ある時期から「天使の教会」と密接な関係を持つようになった。「天使の教会」の洗脳を受けたイウヴァルトは、歌と引き換えにブラックドラゴンと契約を結ぶ。
Among those of the dragon tribe, the most belligerent and warlike of them is a race called the Black Dragon. They eat humans by preference, due to their exceedingly cruel nature. The one who slaughtered Caim's parents was also such a Black Dragon. Like other families, they fundamentally dislike relations with humans, but they have since some time ago held an intimate relationship with the Cult of the Watchers. Inuart, brainwashed by the Cult, forged a pact with a Black Dragon in exchange for his song.

Thus the two former friends, now both dragon knights, would act in a fierce battle of life or death---

However, if the rumors that "God is behind the Imperial Army" are true, then it's not strange at all for dragons, called "God's messengers," to support them to such an extent.
