「どうだ、バルジ？カレリア砦の住み心地は？」
Messenger
"What do you think, Barge? Is Caleria Fortress comfortable enough for you?"

バルジ
「まったく快適そのものです。グラスランドとも、ここ数十年は平穏そのものですし、まぁ、南の方でゴタゴタが続いていたようですが、今はおさまっていますし。」
Barge
"It's like comfort itself. This place has been peaceful the past few decades and, well, while it seems like there's still trouble going on in the south, it's starting to settle down now."

メッセンジャー
「・・・・・・・それは結構だ。だが、あのお方が、きさまをこの砦の責任者代行に推薦した真意、忘れてはいないだろうな？」
Messenger
".......That's wonderful. However, you haven't forgotten the real reason why you were left as the agent in charge of this fortress, have you?"

バルジ
「もちろんですとも。あの小うるさい近衛隊員の女にも、密かに監視をつけております。」
Barge
"Of course not. It's to keep watch on that fussy Temple Guard woman."

メッセンジャー
「そうか。で、彼女は、今どこに？」
Messenger
"I see. So, where is she now?"

バルジ
「日中は、毎日のようにグラスランド側の街道に出ております。待ち人はいつになったら来ますのやら。」
Barge
"During the days, it seems she always goes out to the highway on the Grassland border. Dunno when whoever she's waiting for is gonna show up."

メッセンジャー
「ご苦労なことだな。」
Messenger
"I've put you through a lot of trouble."

バルジ
「しかし彼女は本当にナッシュを捕らえて来るのでしょうか？ナッシュは辺境警備隊の中でも、かなりのクセ者だと聞いておりますが？」
Barge
"But did she really capture Nash? I'd heard he was a really tricky guy, even in the Defense Force, wasn't he?"

メッセンジャー
「だからこそ噂を流し、あの女がナッシュの身柄確保に志願するよう、仕向けたのだ。案じることは無い。それより、もう一つの仕事の方もぬかりなくな。」
Messenger
"That's exactly why those rumors were spread, to induce her to volunteer to secure Nash's person. There's nothing to worry about. More importantly, don't make any more mistakes in your job."

バルジ
「は、はい・・・それはもちろん・・・・」
Barge
"Y-yes sir...of course...."

兵士
「失礼します。」
Soldier
"Excuse me."

バルジ
「なんだ？」
Barge
"What?"

兵士
「ただ今、監視塔から連絡が入りました。レナ・スフィーナ殿が容疑者を捕らえてこちらに向かっているとの事です。」
Soldier
"We just received word from the watchtower. Miss Lena Suphina is headed this way with a captured suspect."

バルジ
「わかった。下がっていいぞ。」
Barge
"Understood. You can stand down."

兵士
「はっ！！！！」
Soldier
"Yessir!!!!"

バルジ
「では、仰せの件、私にお任せください。」
Barge
"Now then, what you said before, please leave it all to me."

メッセンジャー
「ぬかりなくな・・・・」
Messenger
"Don't mess up...."

レナ
「神殿近衛隊・第二分隊副長、レナ・スフィーナだ。容疑者を連行した。このまま報告にうかがいたいのだが、バルジ殿に取り次ぎを願えるか？」
Lena
"Temple guard second squad, Executive Officer Lena Suphina reporting. I'm taking in a suspect. As he should want to receive the report, may I request an introduction to Master Barge?"

門番
「バルジ責任者代行ですね。今使いをやったんで、ちょっと待っててくださいよ。」
Gatekeeper
"Acting representative Barge huh. I'll send a messenger now, wait just a moment."

ナッシュ
「？ちょっと待った。責任者代行って、どう言うことだ？バンダム隊長はどうした？」
Nash
"? Wait a minute. What do you mean, acting representative? What happened to Commanding Officer Bandam?"

門番
「ああ、バンダム隊長は不在なのさ。しかも長期の任務に出たらしくて、その間、代行として赴任して来たのが、バルジってクソ生意気な若造ってわけだ。」
Gatekeeper
"Yeah, Commanding Officer Bandam's out right now. Plus he's out on extended business, so in the meantime we've got this damned cheeky greenhorn acting as his agent."

ナッシュ
「代理なんて、他にいくらでもいるだろう？」
Nash
"Aren't there a whole bunch of other people they could've picked to represent?"

門番
「それが、腕利きの者は残らずその作戦に動員されたみたいでね。仕方なく南部地方軍の田舎貴族が部下を引き連れて派遣されたってことらしいぜ。そう言うおれも補充で来たクチなんで、それ以上の事情は知らないんだけどね。」
Gatekeeper
"Well, apparently all the competent men were mobilized for military operations. Seems like all the southern force gets out here in the boonies is reluctant aristocrats and their subordinates. Though I'm a replacement too, so I don't really know any more than that."

ナッシュ
「そうだったのか・・・・・」
Nash
"So that's how it is....."

道理で、見かけない顔の兵士ばかりのはずだ。おれがいなかった半年の間に大がかりな人の入れ替えがあったってことか。そんな思いをめぐらしていると、兵士の一団が本部兵舎から近づいて来るのが見えた。
Of course, he's supposed to be just another faceless soldier. Looks like in the half a year I was away there's been large-scale replacements going on. While I'm thinking over that, I catch sight of a troop of soldiers heading towards us from the main barracks.

レナ
「ん？何を企んでいる？逃げようとしてもそうはいかないぞ。」
Lena
"Hm? What're you scheming? You're not gonna be able to run away."

ナッシュ
「・・・・・・・・・・あれでもか？」
Nash
"..........What about that?"

眼前に迫った兵士の一団は抜き身の刀を下げ、皆一様に、殺気だった面持ちでおれたちを見つめ、いや、にらみつけていた。
The troop approaches us with swords drawn, and as one body, stare at us with menacing looks - no, more like glaring.

レナ
「命令違反の容疑者を引き渡すんだ。あれくらいの警戒は当然だろう。」
Lena
"I'm delivering a man suspected of breaching orders. That much caution is natural."

ナッシュ
「あんたは何でも良い方に考えるんだな。」
Nash
"I've gotta wonder about that anything-goes personality of yours."

レナ
「おまえは気にしすぎだ。」
Lena
"You're just overthinking things."

ナッシュ
「・・・・・・・だと、いいんだがな・・・・」
Nash
".......I sure hope I am...."

兵士
「レナ殿。任務遂行、ご苦労様でした。」
Soldier
"Miss Lena. Thank you for your efforts."

レナ
「あぁ。わたしはこのまま容疑者の取り調べに同席させてもらう。バルジ殿に、そう伝えてくれ。」
Lena
"Yeah. I'd like to sit in on his enquiry while I'm at it. Report that to Master Barge."

兵士
「その必要はございません。」
Soldier
"That will not be necessary."

ばらばらと兵が散り、あっと言う間におれとレナは取り囲まれてしまった。どうやら、おれの予感は、単なる思い過ごしではなかったようだ・・・・・
The soldiers disperse, and in the blink of an eye Lena and I are surrounded. Looks like I wasn't overthinking it after all.....

レナ
「・・・・これはいったい、何のまねだ？」
Lena
"....What kind of act is this supposed to be?"

兵士
「レナ殿のご協力はここまでで結構でございます。ナッシュ・ラトキエの”処置”に関しましては、以後、われわれ警備隊内の問題となりますので。」
Soldier
"Thank you for collaborating up to this point. Nash Latkje's "treatment" from now on will be the problem of our Defence Force."

レナ
「それは、どう言うことだ！？約束が違うぞ！！」
Lena
"What is that supposed to mean!? That's not what we agreed on!!"

兵士
「そう言われましても・・・・・・・私どもはバルジ様から、”ナッシュ・ラトキエの身柄を拘束せよ”と命令されただけですので・・・・」
Soldier
"Even if you say that.......we've been commanded by Mister Barge to "restrain Nash Latkje," so...."

レナ
「いったい、これは・・・・・・・・・」
Lena
"What the hell is this........."

「バルジ殿！！」
Lena
"Master Barge!!"

バルジ
「これはレナ殿。容疑者の逮捕に、ご協力いただきありがとうございます。後は、われわれに任せて、クリスタルバレーにお戻りください。」
Barge
"Why if it isn't Miss Lena. Thank you very much for your cooperation in apprehending that suspect. You can leave the rest to us, now please return to Crystal Valley."

レナ
「バルジ殿、いったいどう言うことだ？横領の罪にしては、ずいぶんと物々しい扱いではないか。それに、取り調べには同席させてもらう約束だったはずだが？」
Lena
"Master Barge, what is the meaning of this? This is much too overdone for just the crime of embezzlement. Moreover, didn't you promise that I could sit in on the enquiry?"

バルジ
「事情が変わりましてね。」
Barge
"The situation has changed."

レナ
「・・・・・・・・何だと？」
Lena
"........What did you say?"

バルジ
「まぁ、最初は横領の罪だけだったんですがね、つい、先ほど新たな情報が届きましてね。」
Barge
"You see, it was only the crime of embezzlement at first, but recently, we happened to get some new information."

レナ
「どう言うことだ・・・・・・・・・・・」
Lena
"What do you mean..........."

バルジ
「彼が、ジョウストン都市同盟に潜入していたのはご存知ですね。そこで、困ったことをしてくれましてね。」
Barge
"You know he infiltrated the Jowston City-States, right. Well, he managed to get into some trouble over there.

レナ
「・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・」
Lena
".................."

バルジ
「今はもうありませんが、わが国の盟邦であるハイランド王国に不利益をあたえたと言うんですな。都市同盟に、グリンヒルと言う街があるのですが、そこのハイランド王国による攻撃を妨害したと・・・・」
Barge
"I'm told he gave a disadvantage to our former ally, the now-fallen Highland Kingdom. There's a town in the Allied City-States by the name of Greenhill, where he interfered with an attack from Highland...."

レナ
「どこから、そんな情報を・・・・・・・・・」
Lena
"Where did that information come from........."

バルジ
「さる信用できる筋からの情報ですから、わたしとしても無視するわけにはいかないのですよ。」
Barge
"It's from a reliable source, so I couldn't just ignore it, you see."

レナ
「では、ナッシュの処分は？」
Lena
"So, what is Nash's punishment?"

バルジ
「それはすでに決定しております。準反逆罪です。この罪に問われたものは、所属組織の責任者が必要と判断すれば、現地での死罪が適用されます。」
Barge
"That's already been decided. It's treason by association. If deemed necessary by the person in charge, those charged with this crime will receive the death penalty on-site."

レナ
「なんだと！！！！！！！！バカを言うな！！！！！！！！！！現地での適用と言うのは、反乱が起こった時の特例ではないか！！！！！！！本国の裁判にかけずに、死罪とは越権行為に等しいぞ！！！！！！！」
Lena
"What did you say!!!!!!!! That's insane!!!!!!!!!! On-site application is only for the case of rebellion, isn't it!!!!!!! Giving him the death penalty without putting him through fair trial in his home country is abusing your legal authority!!!!!!!"

バルジ
「しかし、法律ではそうなっていますから。話はおしまいです。お引取りを・・・・・・・・」
Barge
"However, that is the law. This conversation is over. If you would please leave........"

レナ
「お、おまえ・・・・・・・・・・いったい、どうして・・・・・・・・・・」
Lena
"Y-you..........why, exactly.........."

バルジ
「スフィーナ家には、昔はお世話になりましたな。そのご恩、忘れてはいませんよ。ですが、重要なのは今ですから。”民衆派”のリーダーだったラトキエ家につながる者に、いつまでも、よりそっても益はありませんからな。」
Barge
"We've long been indebted to the Suphina family. I haven't forgotten that kindness. However, what is important is the present. The Latkje family is connected to the leader of the "People's Faction," and there is no way for that connection to have any benefits."

レナ
「くっ！！！きさま！最初から！！！！！！！」
Lena
"Damn!!! You bastard! All along!!!!!!!"

バルジ
「さぁ、どうでしょうか？わたしも、やっと役目をはたせてホッとしていますよ。」
Barge
"Now, what to do? I'm very relieved, having finally finished my duties."

レナ
「誰だ！誰の差し金だ！！！！！」
Lena
"Who was it! Who instigated this!!!!!"

バルジ
「それは、申し上げられません。ナッシュ・ラトキエの処刑は明朝になりますので、別れの言葉を交わすなら、早くしたほうがいいですよ。」
Barge
"That, I cannot say. Nash Latkje's execution is set for tomorrow morning, so if you'd like to be able to exchange your last words, it would be best to hurry."

レナ
「くっ・・・・・・・・・・・・」
Lena
"Ugh............"
