『炎の運び手』の首領が放った魔法は、村の広場を全壊させたが、アイリたちが村人を避難させていたので、被害を最小限に食い止められたのは幸いだった。だが・・・・
When the Fire Bringers' leader let loose his magic, the village square was completely destroyed, though luckily damage was kept to a minimum due to Eilie's team helping to evacuate the villagers. But....



ロウエン
「どうだい？様子は？」
Lo Wen
"How is it? How's he looking?"

ナッシュ
「・・・・・・・・・・・ダメだ。まだ意識が戻らない。」
Nash
"...........It's no good. He still hasn't regained consciousness."



爆発に飲み込まれたカミューは、思った通りお札の効力のほとんどを、マキを守るために使っていた。
Having been swallowed up by the explosion, it seems Camus had used practically all of the scroll's power to protect Maki.

ナッシュ
「看病は、おれが代わろう。マキさんだって、足にケガをしてるんだから。」
Nash
"I'll take over nursing duty. You've got an injured foot after all, Miss Maki."



マキ
「いえ・・・・・わたしのために、カミューがこんなことに・・・・・」
Maki
"No, it's fine.....It's because of me, that Camus is like this....."



マイクロトフ
「大丈夫です、マキ殿。おれもカミューもこれしきのことでまいるようなヤワな鍛え方はしていません。」
Miklotov
"There's no need to worry, Lady Maki. If Camus and I were to fall to such an insignificant thing as this then our training must have been very poor."

マキ
「えぇ・・・・でも・・・・・・・」
Maki
"Yes....But......."



マイクロトフの言葉にもマキの表情は晴れなかった。
Not even Miklotov's words could brighten Maki's face.



アイリ
「カミューさんは大丈夫なのかい！？」
Eilie
"Is Sir Camus okay!?"

ナッシュ
「薬がよく効いてるみたいだ。心配はいらないと思うが・・・・・」
Nash
"The medicine seems to be working. I don't think there's anything to worry about....."



リィナ
「そうですか・・・・・それはよかった・・・・・」
Rina
"I see.....That's good....."

カミュー
「う・・・・・く・・・・・」
Camus
"Uh.....kh....."



マキ
「カミュー！？」
Maki
"Camus!?"



カミュー
「マ・・・キ・・・？・・・・・よかった・・・・・・無事だったんですね・・・・・・・・・」
Camus
"Ma...ki...?.....That's good......So you're safe........."

マキ
「えぇ、あなたのおかげで・・・・・ありがとう・・・・・・」
Maki
"Yes, thanks to you.....Thank you......"

カミューが意識を取り戻し、部屋に詰めかけた一同にほっとした空気が広がった。
With Camus having regained consciousness, everyone crowded into the room with a distinct air of relief.

ロウエン
「いやー、よかった！！！！一時はどうなることかと思ったけど、これでひと安心だねぇ！！！」
Lo Wen.
"Aah, that's great!!!! For a moment there I wasn't sure what to think, this is a real load off my mind!!!"

マイクロトフ
「ところで、マキ殿。あなたはカミューとお知り合いのようですが？」
Miklotov
"By the way, Lady Maki. Are you and Camus acquainted?"

マキ
「はい、幼なじみ・・・・・みたいなものですね。」
Maki
"Yes, we're childhood friends.....Something like that."

カミュー
「えぇ・・・ わたしの生まれたカマロの騎士団領の街には、彼女の両親が交易商としてよく来ていて、子供のころから、よく知っていました。わたしがあの街を出て、マチルダ騎士団に入ったころからはなかなか会う機会はありませんでしたがね。」
Camus
"Yes...I was born in the knights' district of Camaro, and her parents would come by often to trade, so we've known each other since we were children. When I left that district, I joined the Matilda Knights, and since then we haven't had a chance to meet again."

マキ
「あなたが、マチルダ騎士団に入ったって言う噂は本当だったのね・・・・じゃあ、あなたもあの/f軍と戦ったの？騎士団領が攻め落とされたって聞いたけど・・・」
Maki
"I'd heard rumors that you'd joined the Matilda Knights, but to see that they're true....Then, did you also fight with the Dunan Army? I'd heard they attacked the knights..."

カミュー
「いえ・・・残念な話ですが、わたしの騎士団への忠誠は、他人を放っておけない熱血漢によって、やぶらざるを得なくなってね。結局、わたしは/f軍で戦うことになりました。」
Camus
"Well...I regret to say this, but as my hot-blooded nature would not allow me to overlook the plight of others, I broke my allegiance with the knights. In the end, I joined the Dunan Army in their battle."



マキ
「え！あなたが・・・/f軍・・・・そうだったの・・・・・」
Maki
"Eh! You...and the Dunan Army....So that's how it is....."

突然、マキの表情が沈んだ。マキの表情に何かを感じ取ったのか、みんなも口をつぐんだ。みんな、あの盗賊の首領が言い残した言葉が気になっていたのだ。
Suddenly, Maki's face fell. Her expression seemed to say she'd realized something, and everyone else kept their mouths shut. They were all bothered by the bandit leader's parting words.

「マキ！！マキはおるか！！」

"Maki!! Is Maki there!!"

激しいノックの音がひびいた。マキがあわてて玄関に出て応対する。
A violent knocking resounded throughout the room. Maki hurriedly ran to answer the door.

マキ
「これは、クラドさま・・・・中には怪我人がおりますので、どうぞお静かに・・・」
Maki
"This is, Lord Clado.... There are wounded people in here, so please be quiet..."

クラド
「知っておるとも。/f軍の連中がいると聞いたから、わざわざここに来たのだ。」
Clado
"I know that. I heard they're part of that Dunan Army lot, so I came here right away."

マキ
「そ、それで・・・・・」
Maki
"T-that's....."

クラド
「取りあえずは、中に入れろ。連中に話がある。」
Clado
"I'm coming in at once. I'm going to have a talk with those men."



クラド
「おまえたちが/f軍の者か？」
Clado
"So you're from the Dunan Army?"



カミュー
「そうですが・・・・・失礼ですが、貴方は？」
Camus
"That's right.....Excuse my rudeness, but you are?"

クラド
「わしはこの村の長、クラドと言う者だ。おまえたち、どの面さげてこの村におるのだ？」
Clado
"I am Clado, the head of this village. How dare all of you come here?"



マキ
「クラドさま・・・・・・」
Maki
"Lord Clado......"

クラド
「おまえらが今度は何をたくらんでるか知らんがな、もうわしらの村を放っておいてくれ。金も食料も全てかっさらっておいて、よく、平気な顔で戻って来れたもんだ。この宴だって、なんとかここまでこぎつけたと言うのに・・・」
Clado
"I don't know what you're scheming this time, but leave this village alone. You've already taken all our money and food, and yet you have the nerve to come back here looking totally unconcerned. After we'd finally managed to prepare something we could call a feast..."



カミュー
「われわれが略奪？あの盗賊団の首領も似たようなことを言っていたが・・・・・」
Camus
"We robbed you? That bandit leader mentioned something similar but....."



マキ
「え・・えぇ・・・・・・・・・・本当に・・・・半年ほどまえに、急に/f軍の部隊がやって来て・・・・・・」
Maki
"Y..yes..........The truth is....about half a year ago, a unit from the Dunan Army suddenly appeared......"



マイクロトフ
「まさか、そんな！！！！！！信じられん！！！！！！！！」
Miklotov
"It, it can't be!!!!!! I don't believe it!!!!!!!!"



クラド
「ふん。信じられないと言うのなら、表へ出てみるがいい。」
Clado
"Hmph. If you don't believe our words, then go outside and take a look for yourself."

止める間もなく、ギジムたちが外へと飛び出して行った。おれもマイクロトフと共にあわてて後を追う。
Without a moment's delay, Gijimu's gang flew outside. Miklotov and I rushed after them.



村人
「/f軍のやつらは、この村から出て行け！！！」
Villager
"Dunan Army bastards, get out of our village!!!"

村人
「そうだ！そうだ！！おれたちから奪った食料を返せ！！！」
Villager
"Yeah! That's right!! Give back the food you stole from us!!!"

村人
「そ、そうともさ・・・・・おれの・・・おれの弟は・・・ きさまらに・・・」
Villager
"T-that's right.....My...my little brother was...By you bastards..."



ギジム
「な、なんでぇなんでぇ！！！おめえたちぁ！！！！たった今、意地汚ねえ盗賊からあんたらを守ったのはおれたちじゃねぇか！！！それを、どう言うことでぇ！！！」
Gijimu
"W-what the hell is this!!! You guys!!!! Didn't we just save you guys from those stinkin' bandits just a little while ago!!! Why're you sayin' this kinda stuff now!!!"

村人
「へ！！どうせまた、何かたくらんでるんだろう！！」
Villager
"Hah!! That was just part of your plan, wasn't it!!"

ギジム
「て・・・・てめえらぁ！！！！！！」
Gijimu
"Y....you bastaardss!!!!!!"



クラド
「これでわかったかな？おまえたちが余計な事をしたせいでどれだけ、わしらが迷惑をしているか。とっとと、ここから出て行くがいい！」
Clado
"Do you understand now? Now matter how much unnecessary effort you put into this, we will only find you a nuisance. It would be better for you if you left this place quickly!"
