Suikogaiden 2 Chapter 1 - The Champion

グラスランドの空は、青く晴れ渡っている。そして、この青空の下、おれたちはそれぞれの道に旅立とうとしていた。
The Grassland sky is a clear blue. And under that blue sky, we were getting ready to go on our separate ways.

盗賊たちの襲撃を防ぐことはできたものの、村人たちの気持ちまで変えることはできなかったようだ。結局は盗賊同士の争いにしか見えなかったのだろう。
Although we defended them from the robbers' raid, the villagers' feelings still don't seem to have changed. In the end I guess they just saw it as a dispute between robber comrades.

カミュー、ギジム、ロウエンも、村人が提供してくれた薬によって、すっかり傷を癒していた。
Camus, Gijimu, and Lo Wen were completely healed, thanks to medicine offered by the villagers.



ギジム
「ナッシュさんよ、ヒマができたら、ティントの方にも遊びに来てくれや。」
Gijimu
"Hey Mister Nash, if you ever get a break, come an' stop by Tinto."

ナッシュ
「ああ。でも、もう行くのか？」
Nash
"Sure. But, you're leaving already?"

ギジム
「今回の武勇伝を、すぐにでもグスタフの野郎にしてやりてえんでね。それに、やっぱりおれたちゃこの村の奴らに好かれてないみたいだしな。まぁ、この山賊丸出しの風貌じゃ仕方ねぇかな。」
Gijimu
"I've gotta go tell that rascal Gustav all about our heroic deeds this time around. Besides, looks like we've dried up our welcome with those village guys. Well, not like I've been tryin' t'change this mountain bandit look."

ナッシュ
「まぁ・・・・そうだな。」
Nash
"Well....that's true."

ギジム
「おい、なんだよ。そんなこたぁないとか、なんとか言いようがあるだろうが。」
Gijimu
"Hey, you. If y'don't got an answer, what's the point of sayin' something."



ロウエン
「仕方ないだろうが、本当にそうなんだからさ。さぁ、用事はおわったんだ。とっとと帰るよ。ナッシュ、あんたもトゥーリバーに来たらうちの店によっていきな。おぼれるぐらい、酒をふるまってやるよ。」
Lo Wen
"We can't help it, it's a real disaster. So, we've taken care of our business. Now we're hurryin' home. Nash, if you ever come t' Two River you should stop by my shop. I'll treat you t'so much wine you'll practically drown in it."

ナッシュ
「はは、寄らせてもらうよ。おぼれるのは遠慮したいが。」
Nash
"Haha, I'll drop by. I'm gonna try not to drown though."



コウユウ
「じゃ、ナッシュ兄ィもお元気で！！！」
Koyu
"Safe travels then, Nash-bro!!!"

ナッシュ
「ああ、またな！」
Nash
"Yeah, see you!"



三人組は、おれの行く道と反対方向へと去って行った。風評もどこ吹く風の彼らにはたのもしさを感じる。
The threesome went off in the opposite direction from me. Those guys, unconcerned with any reports, still give me the feeling they're reliable.



アイリ
「ナッシュ、そろそろ、あたしたちも行くね。宴も延期になっちゃったみたいだし、それに、/f軍の仲間ってバレちゃったからお客さん、集まりそうにないしね。」
Eilie
"Nash, we'll be going too, soon. Since it looks like the feast has been postponed, and on top of that it's been leaked out that we were with the Dunan Army, we're not gathering any customers."

ナッシュ
「そうか・・・・・・・・・・・大変だな、あんたらも・・・・・・・」
Nash
"I see...........That's horrible, you too......."



リィナ
「ふふ、そう言うのなれてますから・・・・・」
Rina
"Fufu, we're used to that sort of thing....."



ボルガン
「そうだぁ、なにがあっても、ボルガンは元気だぁ。」
Bolgan
"That's right, whatever happens, Bolgan is happy."

ナッシュ
「ははは・・・・・・・・・」
Nash
"Hahaha........."



アイリ
「ナッシュは、ハルモニアに戻るんだろう？残念だけど、わたしたちとは行き先が別だね。」
Eilie
"Nash, you're going back to Harmonia right? That's too bad, we're going somewhere else."

ナッシュ
「あぁ・・・・・・って、なんでそれを知ってるんだ？？？」
Nash
"Yeah......wait, how do you know that???"

リィナ
「ふふふ、だってねぇ。」
Rina
"Fufufu, because."

アイリ
「そうそう・・・・シエラさんが話してたもん。以前は、荷物持ちを雇ってたけど、最近はそれがいないので、肩がこるって。ナッシュって言う名の、ハルモニアから来た、金髪のナンパ男だって。」
Eilie
"That's right....we talked to Miss Sierra. She hired you to carry her luggage before, but since she hasn't had that recently, her shoulders are getting stiff. She mentioned a blonde skirt-chasing man named Nash, from Harmonia."

ナッシュ
「金髪のナンパ男ぉ？？？？？？？？？？？？」
Nash
"A blond skirt-chasing man????????????"



アイリ
「やっぱり、そうなんだ。ははははは、ナッシュって名前聞いてピーーンと来ちゃった。この人なんだぁって。」
Eilie
"I knew it, it was you. Hahahahaha, when I heard your name was Nash it was like a light came on in my head. This is the guy."

ナッシュ
「あのなぁ・・・・・・・・・・・」
Nash
"Hey.........."

リィナ
「それじゃあ、失礼しますね。また、どこかでお会いしましょう。」
Rina
"Now then, you'll have to excuse us. Let's meet again, sometime."

アイリ
「またね、ナッシュ。」
Eilie
"Seeya later, Nash."



彼女たちも笑顔を残して、去って行った。帰る場所を持たないのは、おれと同じなのだろうに・・・・・・いや、おれには・・・・・・・
The girls left too, with smiling faces. Without a place to go back to, they're kinda like me......No, for me it's.......

そして、北への道をたどろうとしたおれに、騎士団の二人とマキが声をかけてくれた。
And then, as I began to follow the road north, the voices of the two knights and Maki rose through the air.



マキ
「ナッシュさん・・・ナッシュさんも、もう行くのですね。」
Maki
"Mister Nash...so you're leaving already, too."

ナッシュ
「あぁ・・・・そうだな。もともと、買い物によっただけだしな。ちょっとばかり、おおごとになったけど。それより、マキさん。見送りは結構だ。」
Nash
"Yeah....that's right. I'd only stopped here for some shopping, from the start. It was just a little while, but it turned into a really serious situation. Aside from that, Miss Maki. It's nice of you to come see me off."



マイクロトフ
「ナッシュ殿・・・・なぜ・・・・・」
Miklotov
"Lord Nash....Why....."



カミュー
「マキ、村に戻ったほうがいい。わたしたちといっしょにいると、村に居づらくなる。そう言うことでしょう、ナッシュ殿。」
Camus
"Maki, it would be better for you to return to the village. If you are with us, it will become difficult for you to stay here. Isn't that right, Lord Nash."

ナッシュ
「まあね。美人の見送りを断るのはおしいけどね。」
Nash
"True enough. It's pretty disappointing to have to turn down a beautiful lady's farewell though."



マキ
「そんな・・・・・・・」
Maki
"That's......."



カミュー
「マイクロトフ、わたしたちもそろそろ行くことにしよう。」
Camus
"Miklotov, we should get going as well."

マイクロトフ
「あぁ・・・・・だが、おまえ、傷は・・・・・・」
Miklotov
"Right.....but, you, your wounds......"

カミュー
「なぁに、このぐらい・・・・」
Camus
"What, just this much...."



マキ
「・・・・・・・・・・・・・ナッシュさん、やっぱりわたしに見送らせてください。それに、カミュー・・・・傷がなおるまでわたしのところにいてちょうだい。」
Maki
".............Mister Nash, I'll be seeing you off anyway, if you don't mind. Morevoer, Camus....please stay at my house until your wounds are healed."



カミュー
「マキ、しかしそれでは・・・・・・・・」
Camus
"Maki, but in this situation........"



マキ
「いえ・・・・・・・・・・・・・みなさんは・・・・わたしたちの村を・・・・何の見かえりもないのに、救ってくれたのに、わたしが何もしないなんて・・・・それに、/f軍がしたことはこの村の略奪だけじゃなかったってことも・・・いずれは、わかってもらえると思う。そう言う戦い方があってもいいんじゃないかなって思います。」
Maki
"No.............everyone is....our village....even though there was no reason for you to come back, even though you saved us, I didn't do anything....Besides, pillaging isn't the only thing the Dunan Army has done to this village...I think they'll understand that, someday. So I was thinking, that sort of fighting isn't so bad either, is it."



カミュー
「・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・」
Camus
".................."

ナッシュ
「そうだな、じゃあ、ありがたく見送ってもらうさ。いつも、追いかけられて逃げるか、こっそり抜け出すかばかりなんで、こう言うのは久々だ。」
Nash
"That's right, so, I'll gratefully accept your sendoff. I'm always being chased and running away, constantly having to sneak out of places, so it's been a while since I've had this sorta thing."



マイクロトフ
「？」
Miklotov
"?"

ナッシュ
「じゃあな、カミュー。マキさんが、戦う理由はそれだけじゃあなさそうだしな。」
Nash
"Seeya later, Camus. What Miss Maki said isn't your whole reason for fighting, is it."



マキ
「あ・・・・・・そんなこと・・・・・・・」
Maki
"Ah......that's......."

ナッシュ
「それじゃあ！」
Nash
"Bye then!"



カミューが少し、苦笑いした。マキは、小さく微笑んでいた。おれはそんな三人に手を振って、ミリトの村を後にした。
Camus gave a small, wry smile. Maki also had a small smile. Waving at the three of them, I left the village of Milit behind.
