Suikogaiden 2 Chapter 1 - The Champion

露店で買ったチーズ菓子をほおばりながら宴を前ににぎわう村を歩く。彼女は、なんだか楽しそうだ。こう言う雰囲気が好きなんだろう。
We spend the time before the feast walking around the bustling village, stuffing our faces with cheese pastries from the stall. She looks like she's enjoying herself. I have to say I like this kinda atmosphere.



おれたちは他愛の無い会話を交わしながら、アイリの導くままに村のはずれまで歩いて来た。高原にある村だけに、眼下に広がる見晴らしは格別だった。
As we exchange idle conversation, Eilie lead me to the edge of the village. Looking down at the only village on the plateau, the view before us was exceptional.



アイリ
「どう？なかなかいい感じの場所でしょ？」
Eilie
"What do you think? Pretty good spot, right?"

ナッシュ
「ああ、良い気持ちだ。心が洗われるってところだな。・・・・・・・・・・・・・・ところで、アイリたちは、ずっと旅芸人をしているのか？」
Nash
"Yeah, it's got a great atmosphere. A place that can wash away all your worries. ..............Speaking of which, have you guys been performers for very long?"



アイリ
「うん、あたしのアネキがリィナ。カード占いが得意。それで、ボルガンの方は火吹きの芸さ。ずっと旅を続けて来た仲間だよ。」
Eilie
"Uh-huh, my big sis is Rina. She does card fortune telling. Then there's Bolgan, his skill's fire breathing. We've always travelled together."

ナッシュ
「お姉さん、美人だな。」
「旅暮らしは辛くないか？」
Nash
> "Your sister's really a beautiful woman." (Secret +1)
> "Isn't it tough, living as travelers?" (Popularity +1)

アイリ
「へぇ、ひょっとして好みのタイプとか？」
Eilie
"Woah, could it be that she's your type?"

ナッシュ
「いや、そう言うわけじゃないけど、いい感じなんじゃないか？優しそうなお姉さん、って感じで。」
Nash
"No, that's not what I meant, she just gives off a good vibe, alright? That gentle older sister, kinda feeling."

アイリ
「知らないよぉ。アネキはああ見えても怖いからねぇ。前にアネキに手を出そうとした奴なんか、今ごろどうなっていることか・・・・・」
Eilie
"I don't know about that. Sis can be pretty scary despite her looks. Some guy tried to get his hands on her before, and just like that she changed....."

ナッシュ
「ははは、そりゃ怖いな・・・・ 気をつけておくよ。」
Nash
"Hahaha, that is pretty scary.... I'll make sure to be careful."



アイリ
「まったく・・・・・・ でも、やっぱり男の人ってアネキみたいな女らしい人がいいんだろうねぇ・・・・・・・」
Eilie
"Geez...... But, I guess it's true that men all go for feminine types like Sis......."

ナッシュ
「？」
Nash
"?"

「確かに辛いことも少なくないけど、アネキはあれでなかなか世話好きだし、ボルガンはいつも笑わせてくれるし。そんなだから、辛いことなんか気づかずにやっていけてるってとこかな。」
Eilie
"It is pretty tough, but Sis is really helpful, and Bolgan's always smiling. Because of that, I hardly ever notice how hard it is."

ナッシュ
「そうだな・・・・・・・ 一緒に旅する仲間がいるってのは、いいことだよな・・・・・」
Nash
"I see....... It must be nice, to have comrades to travel with....."

アイリ
「あんたはずっと一人旅なのかい？」
Eilie
"Have you always traveled by yourself?"

ナッシュ
「ああ。まぁ、おれは一人の方が気が楽でね。」
Nash
"Yeah. Well, I'm the kind of guy who feels at ease by himself."

ナッシュ
「アイリたちは、どの辺の出身なんだ？都市同盟の方じゃないんだろう？」
Nash
"Where'd you guys come from? You're not from the City-States, are you?"

アイリ
「生まれはグラスランドさ。」
Eilie
"We were born in the Grasslands."

ナッシュ
「戻ったりは、しないのか？故郷に。」
Nash
"Do you ever go back there? To your homeland."



アイリ
「故郷って言ったって、家があるわけじゃなし。待っていてくれる人もね。だから、帰る場所って言うのはね・・・ そうだなぁ・・・/f軍の/b城の方が因縁は深いかもね。」
Eilie
"I called it my homeland, but we don't really have a home there. Or people to wait for us, either. So, talking about a place to return to... That's right...we've got pretty strong ties with the Dunan Army's town, North Window."

ナッシュ
「帰る場所か・・・・・ なぁ、アイリ？」
Nash
"A place to return to, huh..... Hey, Eilie?"

アイリ
「ん？」
Eilie
"Mm?"

ナッシュ
「どうして新同盟軍に参加したんだ？」
「おれもあの頃、同盟領にいたんだ。」
Nash
> "Why'd you join the New Allied Armies?" (Popularity +1)

アイリ
「まあ、いろいろさ。成り行きでそうなったって感じかな。」
Eilie
"Well, lots of reasons, really. I guess you could say things just turned out that way."

ナッシュ
「ナイフ投げの名手とは言え、みずから戦いに赴くタイプとは思えないしな。都市同盟が故郷じゃないなら、戦う理由もないだろうと思ってさ。」
Nash
"You might be an expert knife thrower, but I didn't peg you as the type to go off to battle. If the United City-States aren't your homeland, then I can't think of reasons you'd fight for them either."

アイリ
「・・・・・・・そうだね。国、土地には愛着はなかったけど、そこにいた人たちには、それがあったんだ。そう言うこと。わかってもらえるかなぁ？」
Eilie
".......You've got a point. I might not have an attachment to the country, or the land, but the people who live there, that's where it's at. That's it. Got it?"

ナッシュ
「なるほどね。それなら、良くわかるさ。」
Nash
"I see. If that's the case, I understand completely."

アイリ
「本当に？適当に言ってるんじゃないの？」
Eilie
"Really? You're not just saying things?"

ナッシュ
「な、なんでだよ？」
Nash
"W-why would I?"



アイリ
「あははは、ほら。図星であせってるじゃない。」
Eilie
"Ahahaha, see. I hit the bulls-eye, didn't I."

「へぇ、そうなんだ。」
Eilie
"Oh, really."

ナッシュ
「まぁ、いたと言うか・・・・ 王国軍に目をつけられて、追いまわされていたと言うか・・・」
Nash
"Well, I say I was there.... It might be more accurate to say I was trying to keep an eye on the Royal Army, and ended up running around in circles..."



アイリ
「ふふ、なにそれ？こそドロでもしたの？」
Eilie
"Heh, what's up with that? Are you some sort of thief or something?"

ナッシュ
「ちょっと、違うけどな・・・・」
Nash
"Hey, you got it all wrong...."



ナッシュ
「さて、そろそろ戻ろうか。」
Nash
"Well, we should be heading back soon."

アイリ
「そうだね。アネキのカード占いも、そろそろお客がはけていると思うから・・・・・・」
Eilie
"Yeah. Sis' fortune telling should be gathering customers soon......"



アイリは突然言葉を止めると、高原の下方、谷間を走る道に目を凝らしていた。
Eilie suddenly stopped talking, staring frozen at a spot below the plateau, where a road ran down the valley.

ナッシュ
「・・・・・・どうした？」
Nash
"......What is it?"

アイリ
「あれ・・・・ 交易商のキャラバンかと思ったけど、違うよね？・・・・・」
Eilie
"That's.... I think that's a trading caravan, isn't it?....."

おれも谷に視線を走らせる。木立の間に馬を走らせる集団の姿がちらりと見えた。それぞれの手には武器。
I cast my gaze down at the valley. Through a break in the grove of trees I catch a glimpse of a group of figures on horseback. In each of their hands is a weapon.



ギジム
「ほう、やっとおでましか？」
Gijimu
"Oh, so they finally showed up?"

ナッシュ
「！誰だ、あんた・・・・・」
Nash
"! Who're you....."

ギジム
「グスタフのおっさんに頼まれて、ここまで出張って来たんだが、伝説の『炎の運び手』が本当にお出ましとはな。無駄足にならずに済んだようだな。」
Gijimu
"Old Gustav asked us to come out here, find out if the legendary "Fire Bringer" really did show up, see. Looks like we didn't come for nothing."

背後から、現れた男の口にした名。『炎の運び手』ってのは、グラスランドではよく知られた名前だ。
That name he voiced just now, from behind me. The Fire Bringer is a really well-known name in the Grasslands.

なんでも、６０年ほど前に、ハルモニアの地方軍を相手に、互角の戦いをしただの、クリスタルバレーの『一つの神殿』に忍び込んで『真の紋章』を盗み出しただの、ちょっと、簡単には信じられないような話を、こっちに来てからよく聞かされた。
From what I'm told, they fought on equal footing with Harmonia's regional army 60 years ago, and even snuck into the One Temple to steal a True Rune; since I came here, I've been hearing a lot of unbelievable stories like that.

その上、その盗賊団の親玉が『真の火の紋章』を宿した、『炎の英雄』と呼ばれる男だってことも。しかし、５０年以上前の話だ。最近は、国境沿いに『炎の運び手』が現れると言う噂もあったが、本当に現れるとは・・・
On top of that, the chief of that gang of thieves kept the True Fire Rune, and became known as the Flame Champion. But that story's more than 50 years old. To have recent rumors of Fire Bringer sightings along the border, are they really...

ナッシュ
「それで、あんたは・・・・」
Nash
"And you are...."

ギジム
「なんでぇ、灯竜山のギジムさまを知らねぇのか？」
Gijimu
"Whaat, you never heard o' the Great Gijimu of Lampdragon Mountain?"

ナッシュ
「ギジム？」
Nash
"Gijimu?"

アイリ
「ギジムじゃないかい！元気だったかい？」
Eilie
"Gijimu, it's you! How've you been?"

ギジム
「おう、お嬢ちゃん。そっちも元気だったみたいだな。」
Gijimu
"Oh, it's the little missy. You look like you're doin' good yourself."

またしても、お知り合いか・・・・ 顔の広い連中だな・・・・・
Another acquaintance, huh.... These guys have a lot of connections.....



カミュー
「われわれも、盗賊団がこの辺りを荒らしていると言う情報を得て来ていたんですが、鉢合わせになるとは・・・ ツイているんでしょうかね。」
Camus
"We too came to acquire information on the rumors of bandits devastating the vicinity, so to run into you is...a stroke of luck."

ナッシュ
「カミュー？いつの間に・・・・・・・ どうやら、急ぐ必要がありそうだな。よし、アイリたちは村人たちを避難させてくれ。北側の森がいいだろう。」
Nash
"Camus? When'd you....... Anyway, looks like we've gotta rush. Alright, Eilie's group should help the villagers find refuge. The forest to the north should be good."



アイリ
「わかったよ！」
Eilie
"Got it!"



ナッシュ
「よし、おれたちは・・・・」
Nash
"Right, then for the rest of us...."

村の入り口の方から爆発音が生まれた。目をやると、大きな火柱が立ち上がっていた。あれは、紋章の力・・・・まさか、本当に『真の紋章』の力が・・・・・・
The sound of an explosion came from the direction of the village entrance. Looking over there, we saw a huge pillar of fire rise up. The strength of that rune....it couldn't really be the power of a True Rune, could it......



マイクロトフ
「来たぞ！！！！」
Miklotov
"They're coming!!!!"



マイクロトフが叫ぶと同時に、盗賊が村になだれ込んで来た。広場にいた村人や旅人たちはパニック状態に陥り、悲鳴が満ちあふれる。盗賊は村の入り口で二手に分かれたのか、蹄の音は広場を囲むようにして響き始めた。
Right as Miklotov shouted, the bandits rushed into the village. The square overflowed with screams as the villagers and travelers fell into panic. The bandits split into two groups at the entrance, and the sound of hooves began to echo around the square.



ロウエン
「女子供、関係なしかい？ひでえヤツらだ！！！」
Lo Wen
"Aren't there women and children here? Those guys're really bad!!!"



ギジム
「おう、来たかいロウエン。それじゃあ、一丁たたんじまおうぜ。『炎の運び手』だかなんだか知らんが、義理人情の通じねぇやつらは、ゆるしちゃおけねぇ。おう、赤いのと青いの、おまえさんたちはどうする？指くわえて見てるってわけでもあるまい。」
Gijimu
"Hey, you're coming too right, Lo Wen. Now, we've got a lotta things to do. I dunno if they're really the Fire Bringers, but I've got a bone to pick with those guys, they're really gonna be sorry. Hey, Red and Blue, what're you guys gonna do? I guess I'm lookin' at some extra fingers."



マイクロトフ
「もちろんだとも！！民を守れずして、なんの騎士か？」
Miklotov
"Of course!! If we didn't protect the people, what kind of knights would we be?"



カミュー
「ナッシュ殿はどうします？」
Camus
"What will you do, Lord Nash?"

ナッシュ
「つきあうよ。モメ事はなれてるんだ。」
Nash
"I'm coming with you, of course. I'm used to trouble."

ギジムとカミューたちは二手にわかれるようだ。さて、どちらについて行くか。
Looks like Gijimu and Camus will split in two teams. Well then, which group should I go with.

「急ぎましょう！」
Miklotov
"Let's hurry!"



広場の右の通りに飛び込んだおれたちの前に村人を追い回している盗賊の一団が現れた。
We dove into the street to the left of the square and came across a bunch of bandits chasing the villagers around.



マイクロトフ
「聞け、卑劣なる盗賊ども！！きさまら暴漢に好き勝手な真似はさせぬぞ！！！！」
Miklotov
"Listen up, foul thieves!! You damn ruffians can't do whatever you please!!!!"

ナッシュ
「お、おい・・・・ 名乗りをあげなくても・・・・・」
Nash
"O-oi.... Aren't you giving yourself away....."



盗賊
「なんだ、てめえは！！！」
Bandit
"What, who're you!!!"



マイクロトフ
「さあ、かかって来るがいい！！われらが鋼の騎士道は、きさまらの惰弱な刃になど屈しはせぬ！！！！」
Miklotov
"Now, come at me!! We have steel in our chivalry, you bastards and your pathetic blades have no chance against us!!!!"



盗賊
「ほざきやがれ！！！」
Bandit
"What'd you say!!!"



盗賊の投げた斧を、目前で、カミューが叩き落とした。
One of the bandits threw an axe, and right before my eyes, Camus knocked it away.



カミュー
「さて、乱暴はそれぐらいにしてもらいましょうか。」
Camus
"Now then, it's about time for us to get a little rough."



盗賊
「騎士だかなんだか知らねぇが、やっちまえ！！」
Bandit
"I don't care if you're knights or somethin' else, you're gonna regret this!!"

馬を走らせて来た盗賊たちの背後で別の一団が弓を準備しているのが見えた。迫って来る盗賊たちの方はカミューとマイクロトフにまかせてもいいだろう。となれば・・・・・
Behind the bandits charging on horseback towards us I could see a separate group of archers. It'd be safe to leave the approaching bandits to Camus and Miklotov. As for the others.....



マイクロトフ
「一人として逃すものか！！」
Miklotov
"You're not getting away from me!!"



おれは二人の背後から少し後ずさりながら、後方の盗賊たちめがけて煙幕弾を投げつけた。
As I stepped back a little from behind the two, I lobbed a carefully aimed smoke bomb in the direction of those bandits in the back.



盗賊
「うわっ！！！なんだこりゃ！？」
Bandit
"Uwah!!! What the hell's this!?"

周囲に白煙が広がる。これでしばらく矢は射られないだろう。
White smoke covers the area. With this they shouldn't be able to shoot any arrows.



マイクロトフ
「ダンスニーに込めし鋼の魂、その身で味わうがいい！」
Miklotov
"Feed Dunceney's steel with your souls, it loves the taste!"



カミュー
「わが剣ユーライアよ・・・・」
Camus
"With my sword Uriah...."

二人の剣がきらめくたびに、盗賊たちが、馬上からころがりおちた。さすがは、剣に誓いを立てた騎士と言うところだな。
With the glitter of the two men's swords, the bandits each tumbled down from their horses. As expected from knights who pledge by their swords.



盗賊
「ぐぁぁぁっ！！」
Bandit
"Guaaah!!"

盗賊
「ひぃぃぃっ！！」
Bandit
"Eeeek!!"

ナッシュ
「ここは、まかせてもよさそうだな。なら・・・・・・・」
Nash
"Looks like this place is in good hands. In that case......."



目の前の盗賊たちは二人に任せ、おれは、煙幕を振り払おうと躍起になっている後ろの盗賊たちへと向かった。
Leaving the bandits before me to those two, I headed towards the bandits in the back who were desperately trying to shake off my smokescreen.

ナッシュ
「ずいぶんと難儀してるみたいだな。」
Nash
"Looks like you're having a lot of trouble."



盗賊
「くそ！！てめえのしわざかっ！！！！」
Bandit
"Shit!! So you're the bastard that did this-!!!!"



盗賊たちを挑発し、細い路地へと引き込んで行く。
Provoking the bandits, I draw them into a narrow alleyway.



盗賊
「待ちやがれ！この野郎！！」
Bandit
"Hold it! You rascal!!"

ナッシュ
「残念だけど、そうはいかないな。」
Nash
"Sorry to say, but I can't do that."



おれは走りながらも、背後に迫り来る蹄の音で、盗賊との距離を測る。
・・・・・・・・
・・・・・・・・・・
・・・・・・・・・・・・！！
As I run, the sound of hooves coming up fast, I measure the distance between me and the bandits.
........
..........
............!!

ナッシュ
「よし！！」
Nash
"Alright!!"

おれは振り向きざまに、アンカーを路地を囲む塀へと撃ち出した。
I glanced back at them over my shoulder, shooting an anchor out at the wall surrounding the alleyway.



盗賊
「なに！！？？」
Bandit
"What!!??"

盗賊がおれの不審な動きに気づいた時にはもう手遅れだった。おれはアンカーを路地の反対側の壁に打ち込んでワイヤーを張った。
When the bandits caught wind of my suspicious behavior it was already too late. The anchor I'd thrown into the other side of the alley wall was connected to a wire.



盗賊
「うぁぁぁぁぁぁぁぁぁ！！！！！」
Bandit
"Uwaaaaaaaaa!!!!!"

勢いがついていた盗賊たちは、ワイヤーに引っかかって次々馬から転げ落ちた。後続の盗賊も、そこに突っ込んで同じように転げ落ちる。
Caught up in their own momentum, the bandits each get tangled in the wire and fall from their horses one by one. The bandits behind them, charging suddenly in, fall in a similar manner.

ナッシュ
「それじゃあな！」
Nash
"That's that!"



おれは悶絶する盗賊たちにそう言い残し、カミューたちのところへ戻った。
With those words I left the painfully groaning bandits behind, and headed back to where I'd left Camus and Miklotov.



マイクロトフ
「おお、ナッシュ殿、ご無事でしたか！！残りの盗賊はどうなりました？」
Miklotov
"Oh, Lord Nash, you're safe!! What became of the rest of the bandits?"

ナッシュ
「一網打尽さ。」
Nash
"I rounded them all up."



カミュー
「われわれに剣があるなら、ナッシュ殿には知恵があると言うわけですね。」
Camus
"We may have swords, but Lord Nash has wit, it seems."

ナッシュ
「まぁね。」
Nash
"Ah, well..."



マイクロトフ
「またか！？」
Miklotov
"Again!?"

広場の中央から大きな爆音が響きわたり、視線を移すと、巨大な火柱が立っている。
The sound of a huge explosion resounds from the central square, and when we turn to look, a gigantic pillar of fire is standing there.

ナッシュ
「まさか、ヤツら本当に・・・・」
Nash
"It can't be, they're really...."

「おっし、兄さん。じゃあ、おれについて来な！」
Gijimu
"Alright, buddy. Then follow me!"

ナッシュ
「ああ、よろしく頼む。それから、おれはナッシュだ。」
Nash
"Yeah, I'll be working with you. On that note, I'm Nash."

ギジムたちといっしょに、広場の左の通りに飛び込む。物音からすると、盗賊たちは建物の中にいるようだ。
Together with Gijimu's gang, we dive into the street from the left of the square. Judging from the sounds, the bandits are in a building.



ナッシュ
「これじゃ、迂闊に攻められな・・・・」
Nash
"Well then, they're attacking pretty carelessly aren't they...."

ロウエン
「ほう、さすがは盗賊だね。金のあるところに群がってやがる。」
Lo Wen
"Hoh, as you'd expect from bandits. They start swarming wherever there's money."

コウユウ
「それがヤツらの命取りさぁ！！」
Koyu
"It's gonna be fatal for these guys!!"

ギジム
「よおし！おめぇら、ぬかるなよ！！」
Gijimu
"Awright! Don't screw up, guys!!"

おれの言葉を聞いているのかいないのか。ギジムはそのまま宿の玄関で仁王立ちになった。コウユウとロウエンは建物の脇の路地に駆け込んで行く。こいつら、いったい何を考えているんだ？
It's like they didn't even hear me. Gijimu went to stand imposingly in the inn's entrance. Koyu and Lo Wen rush down the building's side streets. These guys, what the hell are they thinking?

おれが作戦を確認する間もなく、ギジムが二丁斧を振りかざして、建物内部の盗賊にタンカを切った。
Before I could even think up a plan, Gijimu raised up a pair of axes, and started throwing caustic remarks at the bandits inside.



ギジム
「やいやい、てめえら！か弱い村人から金を盗もうなんざ、犬畜生にも劣るヤツらだ！！盗賊なら盗賊らしく、襲う相手を選んだらどうだ！！」
Gijimu
"Hey hey, you bastards! Tryin' to steal money from these poor villagers, you're worse than dogs!! If you're thieves then act like thieves, try pickin' on someone your own size!!"



盗賊
「ああん？何を言ってるんだてめえは！？”弱肉強食”って言葉を知らねえのか？おれたちが弱っちい村人から物を奪うのは、お天道さまの定めだろうが？」
Bandit
"Huuh? What're you talkin' about you punk!? Ever heard of "Survival of the fittest"? We take things from weak villagers, isn't that the law of God?"



ギジム
「ケッ！お天道さまを言い訳に使うんじゃねえ！弱い者しか襲えねえのは、てめえが弱いからだろうがっ！！！」
Gijimu
"Keh! Don't use God as an excuse! If you're attacking weak villagers, then you're the ones who're weak don'tcha think!!!"



盗賊
「なんだと！！弱いかどうか試してみるか！！！」
Bandit
"What'd you say!! Why don't you come and find out if I'm weak or not!!!"



ギジム
「おうさ！！」
Gijimu
"Come on!!"



勝負は一瞬で決まっていた。ギジムが迫り来る盗賊の顔に唾を吐きかけ、盗賊が目を閉じたすきをついたのだ。
The match is decided in an instant. Gijimu looms over and spits on the bandit's face, right between his closed eyes.



ギジム
「さあ、クズどもまとめてかかって来やがれ！！灯竜山の三兄弟、長兄ギジムさまがお相手だ！！！」
Gijimu
"Awright, come out all the rest o' you trash!! Your opponent's the Great Gijimu, oldest of the Lampdragon Trio!!!"



盗賊
「てめえ！言わせておけば！！！」
Bandit
"You damn bastard! Hell if I'm lettin' you say that!!!"

中にいた残りの盗賊たちが一斉にギジムに向かった。しかし、宿の玄関はそれほど広くなく、盗賊は一人づつ外に出て来るしかない。
The remaining bandits inside tried to come at Gijimu all at once. But the inn's entranceway wasn't all that big, and the bandits were forced to come out one by one.



盗賊
「ぐぁぁぁっ！！！！！」
Bandit
"Guaaah!!!!!"



一人、また一人と表に出る盗賊を、ギジムの二丁斧が打ちのめしていく。多数の盗賊対ギジムのはずが、実際は一対一で戦っている。
One after another the bandits come out, each of them getting beaten down by Gijimu's two axes. It should've been countless bandits facing off against Gijimu, but instead it was practically a one-on-one fight.



ギジム
「ナッシュさんよ！おれは大丈夫だからロウエンたちの加勢に回ってくれ！！」
Gijimu
"Hey Sir Nash! I'm doing fine over here so go help out Lo Wen and Koyu!!"

ナッシュ
「わかった！」
Nash
"Got it!"

おれはギジムを残して、宿の裏口に向かった。裏口に着くと、すでにロウエンとコウユウも、盗賊相手に戦いを繰り広げていた。
I left Gijimu behind, and headed for the inn's back door. When I got there, Lo Wen and Koyu were already in the middle of a fight against a bandit.



コウユウ
「落ちぶれ盗賊どもめ！灯竜山のコウユウさまが天誅を食らわしてやる！！」
Koyu
"That's gonna be one bandit down! The Great Koyu of Lampdragon Mountain will make you eat divine punishment!!"



ロウエン
「コウユウ！！調子に乗ってしくじるんじゃないよ！！」
Lo Wen
"Koyu!! Don't get carried away!!"



コウユウが盗賊を牽制して、ロウエンが鉄鎖球で、まとめてかたづける。見事な連携だ。こうなると、おれの出番は無いか・・・・
As Koyu distracts the bandit, Lo Wen raises an iron ball and chain, bringing down the finishing blow. It's beautiful teamwork. Given the situation, is it ever going to be my turn....



ナッシュ
「どうやら、奴ら出て来るのはあきらめて中にたてこもることにしたようだな。」
Nash
"It seems like the guys who came out have given up and barricaded themselves inside."



ロウエン
「そうだね。コウユウ、あんたはここにいな。あたしとナッシュで斬り込むよ！」
Lo Wen
"I hear you. Koyu, you stay here. Nash and I are going on a raid!"



コウユウ
「合点承知でぇ！！！」
Koyu
"Agreement confiirmed!!!"

コウユウの返事を聞くが早いか、ロウエンが鉄鎖球を裏口に放り込んだ。その衝撃に中の盗賊たちがひるんだすきに、まずおれが裏口に躍り込む。
With Koyu's quick reply, Lowen tosses her iron ball and chain at the back door. The thieves flinch at the impact, and in that short pause I rush in through the door.



盗賊
「て、てめえ！！！」
Bandit
"B-bastard!!!"



威勢はいいものの、盗賊は浮き足立ち戦意も半減していた。
He's pretty strong, but the bandit's unsteady stance and fighting spirit both cut that strength by half.



ロウエン
「へえ、やるじゃないか！ずいぶんとヤンチャをしたってタイプだね。」
Lo Wen
"Oh, not bad! I really like you mischievous types."

廊下を右往左往する盗賊たちをかたづけながらおれたちはギジムのいる玄関を目指し、宿の酒場に出る。そこへギジムが血相を変えて、飛び込んで来た。
The hallway is a bed of mass confusion as we finish off the bandits, staking Gijimu at the entranceway as our goal. When we get there Gijimu's face turns color, and he jumps in towards us.



ギジム
「やべえぞ！！新手が来やがった！！！！」
Gijimu
"Bad news!! They've got reinforcements coming!!!!"



ロウエン
「なんだって！？」
Lo Wen
"What!?"

ナッシュ
「人数は？」
Nash
"How many?"



ギジム
「１０人はいやがるな。これじゃあ今度はこっちが袋のネズミだ！！」
Gijimu
"I hate to say around 10. And this time we're stuck like mice in a trap!!"



コウユウ
「大変でい！！裏口もふさがれちまったよ！！」
Koyu
"We've got trouble!! The back door's blocked!!"



ロウエン
「な、なんでぇ、てめえら！野郎二人揃ってやべえ大変だって、それしか言うことないのかい！灯竜山の山賊の名折れだぜ！！！！」
Lo Wen
"W-what's wrong with you guys! You two rascals are full of danger and trouble, isn't that sorta stuff exactly what you shouldn't be saying! This is a disgrace to the Lampdragon Bandits!!!!"

新手の出現で、立場は完全に逆転してしまった。何とかこの状況を打開しないと・・・・・・・
When the reinforcements appear, our positions are completely reversed. If we don't somehow find a way out of this.......

おれは急いで酒場を見回した。すると、宴のために仕入れたのだろうか、部屋の隅に酒を詰めた樽が置かれている。カナカン産のウォッカ、南方産のジン、どれも強い酒ばかりだ。
I hurriedly looked around the bar. There was a bunch of wine casks located in the corner of the room, probably prepared for the feast. Kanakan wine, South sea gin, both pretty strong alcohol.

ナッシュ
「おい、みんな！！！」
Nash
"Hey, guys!!!"

おれは三人を呼び寄せ、作戦を耳打ちした。
I called the three over, and started whispering our strategy.



ロウエン
「やいやい、盗っ人の風上にもおけねえ道義知らずの三下やっこめ！！！てめえらさっき、女子供に手ぇかけてやがったな！？」
Lo Wen
"Hey hey, you thieves over there are immoral bottom rung underlings!!! Earlier, you raised your hands against women and children didn't you!?"

ロウエンは玄関口に立ち、取り囲んでいた盗賊たちに向かって大声で怒鳴り上げた。
Lo Wen stood in the entranceway, yelling loudly at the surrounding bandits.



盗賊
「な、なんだ、おまえは！？」
Bandit
"W-what, who're you!?"



ロウエン
「灯竜山の三兄弟、ロウエンさまを知らねえかっ！！てめえらの非道な振る舞い、許せねえ！あたしが成敗してやるからそう思いな！」
Lo Wen
"Don't you know the great Lo Wen of the Lampdragon Trio-!! I'm not forgivin' inhuman behavior like that, bastards! I'm thinkin' of bringing down judgement on you!"



盗賊
「何を抜かしてやがる！！おまえも同じ目にあわせてやるぜ！！！」
Bandit
"What the hell're you saying!! Aren't you doin' the same thing!!!"

ナッシュ
「よし！！今だ！！！！」
Nash
"Okay!! Now!!!!"



その合図でロウエンが横に飛び退くと同時に、おれとギジムは思い切り酒樽を投げた。宙に舞った酒樽を、すかさずロウエンが鉄鎖球で打ち壊す。その衝撃に酒は霧となり、盗賊たちに降りかかった。
Just as Lo Wen jumped aside at the signal, Gijimu and I used all our strength to throw the wine casks. Without a moment's delay as the casks danced through the air, Lo Wen broke them open with her ball and chain. The impact caused wine to spray all over the bandits.

ナッシュ
「コウユウ！！」
Nash
"Koyu!!"

コウユウ
「あいよっ！！」
Koyu
"Aiyo-!!"



続いてコウユウが盗賊たち目がけて火種を投げつけるや、飛び散った酒がまたたく間に燃え上がり、盗賊たちは猛火に包まれた。
Next Koyu threw live coals at them, causing the scattered wine to burst into flame in the blink of an eye, and engulfing the bandits in flames.

盗賊
「あちぃっ！！あちちちちちっ！！！！！！」
Bandit
"Aargh-!! Owowowowoww!!!!!!"

ロウエン
「ざまあみやがれ！！道義を踏みにじった天誅さ！！！」
Lo Wen
"You're in a real mess now!! This is heaven's punishment for trampling on your conscience!!!"

盗賊
「く、くそう！！覚えてやがれ！！！！」
Bandit
"S-shit!! I'll remember this!!!!"



コウユウ
「その無様な格好、忘れようったって忘れられるもんかい！！」
Koyu
"Awkward guys like that, they're so forgettable they're already forgotten!!"



ギジム
「ああ・・・・・もったいねえ・・・・・」
Gijimu
"Hey.....you're overdoin' it....."



ロウエン
「この馬鹿、まだ言ってるよ。」
Lo Wen
"The idiot, still talkin' like that."



コウユウ
「なな、なんだぁっ！？」
Koyu
"Wh-wh-what was that-!?"

爆音の方に視線を移すと、村の中央広場辺りから巨大な火柱が立っているのが見えた。
We looked towards the sound of the explosion, and saw a gigantic pillar of fire rising up by the central square.

ナッシュ
「まさか、ヤツら・・・・・・」
Nash
"It can't be, they're......"

ギジム
「へっ！どっちにしたって、ここまで来たらやるだけさ。やつらが『炎の運び手』だってんなら、ちょうどいい。この場でぶっつぶして、ティントにちょっかい出せねえようにしてやる！」
Gijimu
"Heh! Either way, we've already come this far. If those guys're the Fire Bringer, that's fine with me. Messin' up this place, they might try to make a pass at Tinto!"
